Gun Control and Homicide….

The great Australian gun control experiment continues to show no effect.  Even the reduction of firearm suicides seems to be attributable to Australia’s comprehensive suicide prevention program they put in place around the same time.

England still has its fair share of violence:

Of the 839 homicides in England and Wales in the 12 months ending Nov. 28 — the most recent period for which Home Office figures are available — 29% involved sharp instruments including knives, blades and swords. Firearms account for just 9% of murders in Britain. Because of this increasing “knife culture”, evidenced by London having tallied almost 20 teen victims of knife homicide this year, London has begun a knife crackdown. Yea… That will work.  And if it does work, perhaps they can start rounding up all the blunt objects. Cricket Bats…. Books…

Los Angeles Crime Stats — All crime down except Homicide

At roughly the half-way point through the year, we have enough data for this to be significant… All crime down in Los Angeles except homicides.. Anecdotally, every report I hear is gang related.
